Elected in November 2017, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms serves as the Executive Officer of the City of Atlanta. 

As chief administrator and official representative, Mayor Bottoms is responsible for the general management of the City and for seeing that all laws and ordinances are enforced.

Donovan Long is an Emmy and Associated Press award-winning journalist, who is always looking for ways to enhance the way news stories are told. Donovan is currently a Weekend Morning Anchor and Reporter in Michigan.

Ashleigh is a Senior Graphic Designer at Gwinnett County in Atlanta, Georgia. Ashleigh has over 11 years of experience in branding, illustration, publication and print design, motion and typography. Ashleigh’s main goal is to develop new relationships, engage conversation and inspire.

Sidney is a versatile journalist who has spent more than 15 years writing, producing and coordinating news coverage at both the national and local news level, with experience in the newsroom, control room and the field. Sidney is currently the Senior Producer of “CNN Right Now with Brianna Keilar.” As second-in-command of the show, he is responsible for assisting the executive producer in determining the overall direction of the broadcast including story selection, segment direction and guest booking.

Kimberly Godwin is President of ABC News, where she oversees editorial and business operations for broadcast, digital, streaming and audio news across the organization, including the No. 1 programs “Good Morning America,” “World News Tonight with David Muir” and “20/20,” and the growing streaming channel ABC News Live.

Rod Carter is an award-winning journalist who anchors at News Channel 8 in Tampa, Fl. Rod is also active within the community, serving as the president of the Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists (TBABJ), Community Leadership Board of the American Diabetes Association.

Utilizing the skills she learned as a Public Relations student, Nadia provides general support to all agency clients, collates media lists, creates press materials, manages social media content and contributes to plan development as well as conducts research necessary for program ideation and execution. During her time at FAMU, Nadia was a radio on-air personality for WANM 90.5 The Flava Station.

Alexis Frazier is a Reporter for a news station in Fort. Lauderdale, Florida. Alexis has always had a profound interest in television and entertainment news. In order to be successful in her field, some of Alexis’ skills include editing, reporting live from the field, writing, editing, Anchoring, and producing.

Ashley is an anchor on WJBF-TV and ABC news channel in Augusta, Georgia. She started her journey in journalism as a camera operator for News 20 and worked her way up to the desk as an anchor on News 20 at Five in the School of Journalism and Graphic Communication. Ashley is a bilingual multimedia journalist who previously interned with WCTV-TV and Spectrum.

Kayla is an Executive Assistant on The Loud House Movie. Kayla’s job is work alongside the producers and directors for the upcoming movie. While working for Nickelodean Kayla has been able to learn the ins and outs of movie animation.

A Tallahassee native, Taylor is a skilled Graphic Designer who has scored several Addy awards while attending the School of Journalism and Graphic Communication. Now Taylor serves as a Graphic Designer for The Pod, an advertising group in Tallahassee.

Nolan D. McCaskill is a national political reporter covering the 2020 presidential race. He previously covered Congress and authored the Huddle newsletter at POLITICO, where he started as an inaugural member of POLITICO’s Journalism Institute in 2014 before accepting a yearlong fellowship through 2015, later becoming a breaking news reporter and briefly covering the White House.

Devin is a business intelligence analyst for Goldman Sachs. He has passed five Goldman Sachs Data School tests in Structured Query Language (SQL), Data Visualization, Alteryx, Data Warehousing, and Defensive Design helping him become a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst. He says that his public relations degree is foundational to the success he’s had.

Alicia is a two-time Associated Press Award-winning journalist and enjoys the idea of digging deep to find the true meaning behind every story. Alicia is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Kappa Tau Alpha Honor Society and the National Association of University Women.

Lacrai is a CBS News political embed covering the 2020 election cycle. Also she is a Society of Professional Journalist winner with her documentary, Trapped. Her passion for investigative and long-form projects continues with various projects she currently working on and she loves telling stories that explore the social issues of our day. While attending SJGC, Lacrai won an Emmy for her Homecoming TV Special.

Giselle works for CBS’s, CBS This Morning in New York City. As an assistant anchor for Tony Dokoupil, Giselle is heavily involved with the editorial and research team. Giselle has helped cover Hurricane Dorian, the Apollo 11 50th anniversary, and the Iowa Caucuses.

Ashley brings a millennial perspective to her public relations and strategic communications work. Her work with state government, higher education, healthcare, statewide legislative issues, and crisis management. Ashley has garnered results in USA Today, BuzzFeed, The Huffington Post and Refinery 29 among others.

Jason is a Sports Content Researcher for ESPN. Jason provides content for the on-air, digital and global platforms. Jason is well versed in sports statistics and storytelling using those tools. 

Denise is a Senior Producer at HLN Morning Express with Robin Meade. Denise has an extensive history of working in the broadcast media industry. Denise is skilled in Storytelling, Television, Media Production, Journalism, and Video Production.

Ahmon Lott is a Social Media Content Manager for Professional Athlete, Deion Sanders. Lott spends his days combining his passion for sports and his videography skills by filming daily content for Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

Margie Menzel is an award-winning journalist who has worked in print, radio and video. Margie is currently the communications director at the Florida Guardian ad Litem Program, having covered state government for the News Service of Florida, WFSU/Florida Public Radio and Gannett News Service. In 2008 and 2009, Margie won a first Place in Public Affairs Reporting from the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters, and in 2010, a first place in Radio Reporting from The Florida Bar. 

Covering a variety of collegiate sports including basketball, football, softball and volleyball. She is the first African-American woman to serve as a play-by-play commentator for college football on a major network. She serves as the FAMU School of Journalism & Graphic Communication Board of Visitors co-chair.

Kristen is an Emmy award winning reporter and fill-in anchor with six years of experience. Kristen is skilled in breaking news, investigations, and feature reporting. Kristen has strong media and communications professional experience with a Bachelor of Science(B.S.) degree focused in Broadcast Journalism from Florida A&M University. 

Allen Goodrum is a senior designer at the Moore Agency where he creates and maintains branding relationships through creative strategies. As a senior designer he values “brain power” and problem solving skills to assist him in brand storytelling through the vast use of graphics.

Chris is a skilled, award-winning photographer and designer with a very adventurous spirit. Chris’ work has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers, including the Tallahassee Democrat, Swatch Magazine, Diverse World Fashion, and Tallahassee Magazine.

Brandon is a reporter for KREM 2 News in Spokane, Washington. As a reporter Brandon is able to get to the “so what?” of many stories that impact the community of Spokane.

Kelsey is a FAMU and FSU graduate, and screenwriter. Kelsey is a two-time Emmy-nominated actress and screenwriter. Kelsey began her career in the theatre scene of her hometown of Atlanta.

Best known for her role as Anne Northup in the Oscar-winning 12 Years A Slave and her harrowing arc as Wes Gibbins’ mother, Rose, on How to Get Away With Murder, her credits span a diverse collection of projects.

Lanetra Co-anchors the weekday morning and midday newscasts at WCTV, the CBS affiliate in Tallahassee, FL.  As an award-winning reporter/multimedia journalist, Lanetra has covered a wide range of stories, from crime scenes and national court cases, to human interest, social issues, and community events.

Meaghan Taylor is the founder of Women In Radio, the largest organization for the support and advancement of women in the radio industry.

Meaghan now lives in Miami, FL where she is a producer at iHeart Radio, and an instructor at The Connecticut School of Broadcasting where she teaches social media and radio. 

WACH FOX News weekend anchor, Shay Simon, is a proud Rattler.

During her time on the hill, she interned at CBS This Morning in New York City, won an AP Award and served as President of the NABJ chapter.
